to the website for Connecticut Alliance for Retired Americans.  We are organizing retired Americans for the purpose of making a difference in the quality of life for senior citizens in Connecticut and across the country.   This is accomplished mainly by working for legislation that will be beneficial to older Americans and by working to get current laws amended to repair problems therein.

We do this by:

• educating our members about legislation that affects older Americans, either conversely or adversely,
• encouraging our members to get involved in formulating that legislation,
• turning out members for rallies and press conferences that support or oppose a particular issue,
• having our members lobby legislators who are in a position to enact legislation,
• getting our members to volunteer to help get individuals elected to office who understand and support our positions.
